Dialogues on the Many Meanings of Green
Green Duets is part of Creative Insomnia – Green Nights, an interdisciplinary cultural project conceived by Claudia Bonollo as a space for dialogue around the many meanings of the colour green.
Through conversations, artistic interventions, installations and collaborative projects, Green Nights brought together artists, architects, scientists, designers, philosophers, biologists and nature lovers, creating an open platform where different forms of knowledge could meet through a shared chromatic experience.
Within this context, Green Duets explores green not as a single colour, but as a constellation of meanings. Throughout history, green has symbolised life, regeneration, hope and fertility, but also mystery, transformation, the unknown and the imaginal. Every culture has imagined its own green, projecting onto it different values, myths and ways of understanding the world.
Rather than offering a single interpretation, Green Duets embraces this plurality. Each work, installation or collaboration becomes a dialogue between colour and nature, biology and imagination, ecology and culture, revealing how a single colour can generate profoundly different experiences and forms of knowledge.
More than a study of green, Green Duets is an invitation to rediscover the extraordinary complexity of a colour that continues to shape the way we perceive, inhabit and imagine the living world.
